Immerse yourself in the authentic tradition of Japanese bathing culture. For those wishing to experience Japan in its most genuine form, a visit to a sento is essential. Perfect for those looking to experience Japan’s cultural essence, a visit to a sento is truly unforgettable.

A sento is an authentic Japanese public bathhouse, deeply rooted in Japanese culture and tradition. Sentos have been a part of Japanese daily life for centuries, originally serving as communal bathing facilities before private baths became common in homes. They are distinct from onsen, which use natural hot spring water, whereas sentos typically use heated tap water. Sentos reflect Japan’s emphasis on cleanliness and relaxation, offering a variety of baths, often accompanied by saunas and cold plunges.

Located in the charming Higashiueno area near Ueno, our sento experience offers the perfect blend of tradition and modern comfort, making it the ideal destination to discover this timeless bathing ritual.
